Motorbike Vietnam is part of the larger Offroad Vietnam Adventure Travel.
There are many companies that offer guided and self-guided adventures on two wheels in Hanoi, Northern Vietnam. Most of all, two important things that make a trip an adventure of your lifetime are the organisation and bikes. Offroad Vietnam has the true ring of adventure and therefore delivers services beyond your expectations about real Vietnam. We promise to make your vacation as enjoyable and memorable as it should be.
The company is owned and run by two motorcycle enthusiasts, Anh WU who has had over 20 years of experience working in tourism and Minh HOANG who had been guiding motorcycle trips for more than 10 years and now works in the office with bikes and guides. When you travel with Offroad Vietnam, you’re not just customers but also friends. Unlike overseas-based tourism companies, every dollar you spend on the trip stays in Veitnam. We don’t have fancy offices or pay high commissions but believe in putting the money back into the Vietnamese community. If you need any reference about us, please have a look here.
What makes us different from most of the motorbike touring companies in Hanoi is the motorcycle we use. You ride Japanese Honda 4-stroke road and dirt bikes from 125 to 250cc, we don’t use any other brands. These are our own bikes (CRF250L year 2014-2017, XR250L year 2003-2006, 2016-2017 XR150L, XR125L 2013-2015 models, and 2014 CGL125) and we don’t rent bikes from any company. In reality, rental bikes come with poorer quality due to more frequent use and by different levels of riders. Some people didn’t pay attention to this and if bikes are broken their holidays will be interrupted or even terminated. You pay hundreds or even thousands of dollars to fly to Vietnam so there is a reason choosing the best bikes available.
FYI, most of our customers are experienced riders or m/c club members. The average age is between 30-50. The oldest rider is 83 years old and the youngest being just 10! More than 60% of clients come from Australia and the rest 40% comes from U.S.A, Canada, England, New Zealand, South Africa, and Europe.
Our Vietnam motorbike tours cater for riders from beginners to experienced level. You can join us by choosing a proper bike for your skill.
Guided Motorbike Vietnam Tours
Most of our off-road motorbike tours are strictly private between families and friends but if you want to tag along with an open group, please follow this link. There are two types of guided adventures you can book with us and they work with a wide range of budgets.
Guided Vietnam motorcycle adventures for riders who want to enjoy motorbike tours without worrying about negotiating things in a foreign country. Guided Vietnam 4×4 holidays for people who want to travel off the tourist trails but don’t want to ride motorbikes.
Semi-guided Vietnam motorcycle holidays (bikes + guide rentals) for budget riders who want the freedom of mind and just need to negotiate with food and hotel while on the road. With a guide, you can end the trip anywhere in Vietnam. The guide is four in one: guide, handy mechanic, leader as well as a translator! He seems like excellent value to the whole experience. This type of trip offers more flexibility.
Motorbike Vietnam takes guided motorbike tours exclusively on Japanese Honda road and trail bikes through some of the most exotic areas in Northern Vietnam. Longer voyages down the Ho Chi Minh Trail/Road offer you a real insight into Vietnamese country, people, customs, and traditions because we ride pass at least one province every day. Even a short trip in a day in and around Hanoi also gives you a different experience than what you’ve ever heard or thought about. We customize a trip that works perfectly with your time frame, from just a day to 16 days or even more. Below are the most typical motorbike routes we offer in Hanoi.
This is, in fact, the longest motorbike ride in Northern Vietnam you can do. It’s simply a crawl along the border between Vietnam, Laos, and China. There are sealed roads and dirt tracks that work with whatever riding skills you have. In the end, the ultimate experience you get is probably the best of Northern Vietnam.
In recent years, Ha Giang attracted a considerable amount of tourists and dirt bike riders. There are even a few competitions that were held in Dong Van GeoPark for the first time. In fact, Ha Giang and Northeast is now the top choice of any motorbike rider to Vietnam due to the wild and unreal landscapes, many colourful hill tribal groups, delicious and unique food. Let’s do it before the tracks are replaced by concrete or sealed roads.
If you like the high mountain roads and heard about Sapa, then this is it. Motorbiking on the roof roads of Indochina and a stop in Sapa are the highlights of this motorbike route. There are a few options for this loop and you can do it between 4 and 6 days.
This used to be the most popular motorbike route before we extended this loop and include Ha Giang. However, it’s still a top choice if you have around 5-7 days. Ba Be lakes, Cao Bang mountain roads, Ban Gioc waterfalls, and the historical Highway 4 are the highlights. In addition, a boat cruise in Ba Be, homestays, and some possible trek add more value to the whole experience.
When Vietnam first opened the door to foreign tourists, Northwest was the top choice for motorbike riders due to the wild landscape, good services, and amazing roads. However, with the construction of a few large hydro-electric plants like Son La and Lai Chau, the situation changed. It’s still a nice area to ride but more sealed roads.
This motorbike voyage takes you from Hanoi all the way to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) through many provinces. First, we head North and then slowly ride down South. The roads are mainly sealed but there are still dirt tracks you can try. The best things about this trip are the Vietnam War and the complete experience of Vietnam you can get on the way. However, if you like dirt biking and tracks, this is not an ideal ride.
if you have not enough time for any long ride, book a day trip and we can take you to places fewer tourists visit. In fact, there are so many options, from the Red River traditional village to the high mountain roads. Let us know your preference and our guide will show you a real Vietnam in just a day.
This tour is designed especially for female riders who either want just girls on the trip or ride at a slower pace. Some experienced female riders still book it because they want to explore Vietnam in their own way, usually without drinking and smoking. Our guide is a male rider because it’s hard to find a girl who is willing to ride multiple days.
If you don’t feel any of the above motorbike routes fit in your travel agenda, then think about a custom ride. This allows you to ride anywhere you like without any set itinerary. Usually, riders book a private trip with their family or friends and do it at their own pace. Just contact us and let us know your plan and we get back with some suggestions.
